Zeolite is a 100% natural mineral. Zeolite has a unique, electrically charged crystal structure that results in the selective absorption and storing of many of the nutrients that are released from fertilizers. When the plant needs these nutrients they are released from the zeolite.

Positive molecules (cations) are attracted and become attached to the negative charge of the zeolite crystals. Molecules smaller than four angstroms enter inside the crystal, taking advantage of the enormous surface area.

Thus, much less fertilizer is used as compared to application without Zeolite, and excess fertilizer components do not enter the local water supply during runoff.

Most turfs are constructed using a sand substrate that promotes rapid water infiltration and high air filled porosity. The addition of Activated Zeolite to the sandy substrate will increase nutrient and water retention without compromising airfilled porosity. The nutrients and water are absorbed into the granules and are available to the plants as and when needed.

Golf course turf, particularly on sloping, hillocky and compacted ground, can suffer from dry patches through high water runoff and poor water infiltration, resulting in sparse grass cover. Broadcasting granular Activated Zeolite over or tilling it into the soil will reduce runoff and promote infiltration of nutrients and water through the root zone, effectively of restoring grass cover through water retention.

Activated Zeolite can be used for top dressing as a replacement or adjunct for sand when opening-up turf through coring and cutting aeration.

Major Benefits of Zeolite

• Improves Turf quality as well as providing savings in labor, water and fertilizer.
• Zeolite improves plant growth and significantly lowers the cost of acreage management while being
environmentally friendly.
• Reduces Nitrogen Drawdown.
• Improves pH-buffering action of the growing medium.
• Increases water holding capacity and hence reduces watering
• Zeolite will not breakdown, you will benefit year after year.
• High ability to store and deliver cationic nutrients (CEC, Cation Exchange Capacity).
• The efficiency of the nutrient delivery is increased and therefore you can apply fertilizer less frequently.
Save Money and the Environment
• Helps keep harmful nutrients out of rivers whilst increasing the nutrient retention in soils.
• Helps ensure more of the fertilizer you apply is actually used by the plant thus reducing leachates that harm the environment.
• Nutrients are encapsulated and are slowly released to the plant root only on demand. While the nutrients are capsulated they cannot be leached out by watering.
• It increases the air-filled porosity by opening up the tightly bound soil colloids that inhibits drainage, and reduce the soil’s water holding capacity.
• Activated Zeolite will provide plant available Silicon, an essential element for sustaining the health of plants and improving the vigor of plant growth.
• 100% Natural
• BFA (Biological Farmers of Australia) Registered Product.
• Zeolite held fertilizer is not affected by rain – even over long time periods.
• Improves plant vigor.
• Keeps soil ventilated.
• Particularly effective in sandy soils.
